I am looking to purchase a small home engraver for small things like tumblers keychanges
As long as the metal is stainless steel or anodized aluminum you can use anyone fo our xTool diode lasers. If you want to expand your range and use other types of metal like copper, platinum, gold, titanium etc. A fiber laser with Infrared (IR) technology would be comparible. I would go with our xTool F1 Hybrid/Portable Laser (Diode + IR) which is versatile when using all metals mentioned above because it's essentially two lasers in one. What file types can be used. Do you need a computer or is there a screen for setup and control
All xTool lasers come with their own software called Xtool Creative Space. This software supports JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, SVG, DXF, and WEBP files. Yes you do need a computer to operate and control the laser. Minimum PC requirements include: Processor=Intel Core i5 6200U or greater, OS= Windows 10 (64-bit)/macOS 10.14 or greater, Display Resolution= 1280 × 720 (pixels) or greater, Hard Drive= 8GB or greater.
